Zürs am Arlberg: The Village We Drive To
Zürs is a short row of houses at 1,716 metres, sitting on the Flexenstraße itself rather than at the end of a side valley. That single fact shapes everything about a transfer here: there is one road, it is the most exposed one on the Arlberg, and the village is small enough that the driver does not need a house number.
It is the highest of the Arlberg villages after St. Christoph, and it is the one where the road and the village are the same thing. You do not turn off to reach Zürs; you arrive on the road you were already on.

The 60 minutes of waiting
The clock starts at the actual landing, not the scheduled one. Inside Schengen it is typically 15 to 25 minutes from touchdown to the arrivals hall, from outside it takes longer because passport control is added — both run inside that hour. If the flight itself is delayed, the pickup moves with it in full and the hour starts again.
Changes and cancellation
You can change or cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before the pickup. If the flight changes earlier than that — and in winter it sometimes does — just send us the new number; it does not create a new price as long as it is the same journey.
Paying
By card or in cash, before or after the journey. Nothing is taken when you book, and there is no card fee that appears at the end.
One Road In: The Flexenstraße
Zürs has no second road. Every transfer, from every airport, arrives on the Flexenstraße — five kilometres of galleries and open mountain between the junction at Alpe Rauz and the village. It is the highest and most exposed stretch on the Arlberg, and every one of our drivers is on it daily through the season.
From the west — Zurich, Altenrhein, Friedrichshafen, Memmingen
Up the Rhine valley to Bludenz, along the Klostertal, off the S16 at Langen, then past Stuben and up to Alpe Rauz. From there the Flexenstraße climbs through the galleries to the village. The road goes round the north side of the Arlberg rather than through it: no tunnel and no pass.
From the east — Innsbruck
Up the Inn valley to Landeck and into the Stanzertal, then over the Arlbergpass past St. Christoph, down to Alpe Rauz and onto the Flexenstraße. The route stays inside Austria the whole way — no border and no tunnel toll — but it crosses a mountain pass, and the pass is what makes the drive what it is.
Why the last five kilometres decide the morning
On a departure the climb you made on the way in disappears inside the first twenty minutes, which means the hardest part of the journey comes first rather than last. The Flexenstraße is cleared early and watched closely, because the whole of Zürs and Lech is behind it. If it is going to hold us up, you hear it the night before — and that is early warning, not a promise about the weather.
Where in Zürs We Drop You
Zürs is small enough that there is nothing to explain about finding you. The village is a short row of houses on and just off one road, there is no restricted zone and no second vehicle, and the car stops at the entrance you will walk out of on your first morning.
The name is enough
In a place this size the driver does not need the house number, only the name of the hotel or the chalet. That is not a service promise, it is arithmetic: there are only so many buildings, and our drivers pass all of them several times a day.
What that saves you
The last five minutes of a transfer are where door-to-door either happens or does not. In Zürs it happens without anybody having to arrange it — no drop-off point, no walk with cases in the snow, no second leg. You get out where you are staying.
Luggage, Skis and Children on the Way to Zürs
Skis and snowboards
Skis and boards travel outside, on a rack fitted to the rear door, and they cost nothing extra. That is why a group of eight with equipment travels as one vehicle rather than two — and nobody spends two hours with a ski bag across their knees.
Cases and passengers are two questions
Eight seats do not automatically mean eight large cases plus eight ski bags. Tell us both when you book and the vehicle that fits both is the one that comes. There is no luggage surcharge.
Child seats
Child and booster seats are free and already fitted when we collect you — just tell us the ages. There is no need to fly with your own seats for the sake of the drive from the airport.
Families and Groups Arriving in Zürs
A private transfer is a vehicle reserved for your group and nobody else. There are no other passengers to collect and no stops that are not yours — the drive runs from the arrivals hall to the door of where you are staying in Zürs. After a day of flying with children that is the difference between one journey and a chain of connections.
Up to eight in one vehicle

All season we run four-wheel drive, winter tyres and chains on board, and in winter we plan for realistic journey times rather than the best a dry summer night would give. We drive all year, at the same fixed prices. In summer Zürs is walking and cycling country, and bikes travel with us when arranged beforehand.
Reaching Zürs Without Flying
There is no station in Zürs. The nearest platforms are at Langen am Arlberg, down the Flexenstraße and through Stuben, and the local bus that links the two runs to a winter timetable rather than to yours.
For a flight late in the day that can work perfectly well. For anything leaving in the morning it means starting the day by the bus clock, which is the opposite of what a last morning should feel like.
If the train is what you want, we drive the road part: from Zürs to Langen am Arlberg or to St. Anton am Arlberg, whichever station your ticket needs.

The return transfer is the same road in the other direction, but the question changes: arriving, you get there when you get there; leaving, a flight decides when your day starts. So we work the pickup time backwards from your departure and ring the day before to set it.
