Stuben am Arlberg: The Village We Drive To
Stuben is the smallest of the five Arlberg ski villages and about a hundred people live in it. It sits at 1,407 metres at the western foot of the pass, where the Flexenstraße turns off towards Zürs and Lech — which means traffic passes Stuben on its way somewhere else, and Stuben stays quiet.
For a transfer, the interesting number is not the altitude but the three kilometres: that is the whole distance between the village and the junction at Langen where the S16 takes over. Everywhere else on the Arlberg the mountain part of a journey is measured in tens of kilometres. Here it is measured in minutes.
That single geographic fact is why the pickup time for a morning flight is set later from Stuben than from anywhere else on the mountain. The figures for all six airports are below.

The 60 minutes of waiting
The clock starts at the actual landing, not the scheduled one. Inside Schengen it is typically 15 to 25 minutes from touchdown to the arrivals hall, from outside it takes longer because passport control is added — both run inside that hour. If the flight itself is delayed, the pickup moves with it in full and the hour starts again.
Changes and cancellation
You can change or cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before the pickup. If the flight changes earlier than that — and in winter it sometimes does — just send us the new number; it does not create a new price as long as it is the same journey.
Paying
By card or in cash, before or after the journey. Nothing is taken when you book, and there is no card fee that appears at the end.
Three Kilometres of Mountain, and Then the Motorway
The L197 runs three kilometres from Stuben down to the junction at Langen. Once you are on the S16 there, the mountain part of the journey is over — in either direction. That is the shape of every transfer here, and it is unusual enough on the Arlberg to be worth stating plainly.
From the west — Zurich, Altenrhein, Friedrichshafen, Memmingen
Up the Rhine valley to Bludenz, along the Klostertal past Klösterle to Langen, and then the three kilometres up the L197. Neither the tolled Arlberg tunnel nor the Flexenstraße is involved in either direction.
From the east — Innsbruck
Up the Inn valley to Landeck and into the Stanzertal. From there two roads lead to Stuben, which is one more than lead to Zürs, and which one we take depends on the day and the conditions rather than on a preference.
Why the lead time here is shorter
Those three kilometres still carry snow and they are steeper than a map suggests — but they are three kilometres. There is simply less mountain between your door and the motorway than anywhere else on the Arlberg, and the pickup time we set for a morning flight reflects that rather than a blanket rule.
And when the pass is shut
One more thing sits behind the shorter lead time, and it only matters on a bad morning: the western portal of the Arlberg road tunnel is at Langen, the same junction we join the motorway at. So when the pass over the mountain is closed, Stuben is not cut off from anything — the traffic that used the pass simply arrives at the door we were leaving through anyway.
Where in Stuben We Drop You
A hundred people live in Stuben, which makes the address part of a booking almost decorative. There is no restricted zone, no goods hall and no change of vehicle: the driver knows the house before the satnav has finished thinking about it.
At the door, not at the village sign
Whatever time we agreed, the car is outside that door. In a village this size there is no version of a transfer that ends with you walking the last part with cases — there is nowhere for it to end other than where you are staying.

Stuben is the quietest of the five and the people who choose it usually know exactly why they are not choosing somewhere louder. Ski and board bags travel outside on the rear rack, so eight people and their equipment fit in one vehicle rather than two.

Child and booster seats are free and already fitted when we collect you — just tell us the ages. There is no need to fly with your own seats for the sake of the drive from the airport.
Families and Groups Arriving in Stuben
A private transfer is a vehicle reserved for your group and nobody else. There are no other passengers to collect and no stops that are not yours — the drive runs from the arrivals hall to the door of where you are staying in Stuben. Reaching Stuben Without Flying
Stuben has the best train answer of the five Arlberg villages, and it is worth saying so plainly rather than talking around it. Langen am Arlberg station is three kilometres away — closer than any other Arlberg village is to a platform — and the local bus line runs past it.
With hand luggage and a flight that is not at dawn, the train is a genuinely reasonable choice, and we are not going to pretend otherwise.
If that is how you would rather travel, we will simply take you over those three kilometres to the platform, or collect you from it.

The return transfer is the same road in the other direction, but the question changes: arriving, you get there when you get there; leaving, a flight decides when your day starts. So we work the pickup time backwards from your departure and ring the day before to set it.
