The road from Zurich to Klösterle
From Zurich Airport the route heads east past Winterthur and St. Gallen, then crosses into Austria at the Diepoldsau border. It follows the Rhine valley through Hohenems and Feldkirch onto the A14 to Bludenz, where the S16 Arlberg road climbs the Klostertal toward the pass. Klösterle sits in the Klostertal, down the S16 below Stuben on the Vorarlberg side of the Arlberg. In normal conditions it is roughly 180 km and about 2h; we plan for realistic winter timing rather than a best-case number.
Winter driving on Zurich to Klösterle transfers
The Arlberg is winter country from November to April. The final climb over the pass or through the tunnel can see heavy snow, ice and the occasional closure.
